(Post 24) Audience Research Video 1

To get people for our audience research, we went into Wymondham town centre and the Sixth form and interviewed a few people for our audience research.
Two of the people we interviewed didn't want to be filmed, so here are their answers:

Do you watch music videos?
Yes, I do watch music videos.

How do you watch them?
I usually watch them on Vevo, or stream them. Sometimes I watch them on the music channels (on TV) or on YouTube.

How often do you watch them?
Pretty much every day. I have a little boy who enjoys them so we watch them together.

Why do you watch them?
I watch them and listen to music to feel good- music makes you move. I have a little boy who is three, so we watch them to bond.

What is your favourite genre of music?
I don't really have a favourite genre- I like all kinds of music. Anything really.

Who is the audience for music videos?
Probably people in their 20's, music videos aren't so cheesy anymore. It's usually women without a lot of clothes on or rappers, so I would say people who are going out and about.

In your opinion, are music videos an effective form of advertisement?
Yes, I think they are quite a good way to advertise.

How do you feel about wider representation in music videos?
I think it's good to get that out there. Its good to have a wider representation.

Have you heard of the song 'Youth' by Daughter?
I haven't heard of the song. If I heard it I might know it, but I don't know it by name.

How do you feel about relationships in music videos?
In which way? In a romantic way if it is relevant it is fine- like if it is relevant to the song, but if its pointless its a bit dull and unnecessary.

I like musicals. And classical music, I have a quite wide range actually.

Younger than me!

Yes, they are definitely an effective form of advertisement.
