(Post 57) Feedback of final cut

Feedback on my final cut: I got the feedback for my final cut off of Facebook Messenger and through texting. Megan-  "I thought the idea was really unique and original. Th editing really tied it all together and I thought the editing was really good. You paid clear attention to the framing and editing and I thought it was really well done for a student video. I thought it was really professional, especially for a student-made video" Emily- "I really liked the camera work especially! There was clear attention to framing, and I thought there was varied shots. She clearly used a good camera, as the video had quite good quality." Sam- "It was really good. The story made lots of sense and the plot was really interesting and clear." Tracey- "There is clear development since the rough cut. In the rough cut, the clips held on for more length than needed, which made it feel rather awkward and dull. In the new version, the clips have been cut down wher

This is my second draft of my video: What I have changed from my first draft: Fire Aspect. Originally, there was no aspect of fire in my video. I had created a different idea that revolved around a more optimistic outlook on a relationship. The main character messes up, acknowledges this and goes to find their ex, who presumably gets back together. The addition of the fire made the longer length of the clips more interesting and added pacing. It introduced a more bitter storyline and created more of the idea that a relationship is built on two sides.  What I still need to change: Photo editing. There are a few minor areas in the ultra key that are a little off in the editing. There is a particular moment when Megan is in the street, where the picture is not framed right and you can see the black edges of the underlying clip. I want to zoom this in slightly so that this black goes away. This is not difficult to do, and won't take me too long at all.  Trim clips.

How did you use media technologies in the construction and researching, planning and evaluation stages? Construction: In the construction of my media project, I used a vast range of media technologies and functions. This year, I completed this task on my own, so I have a more comprehensive view of how it was constructed and developed. First, I used multiple different filming technologies and techniques: Filming: The camera I used in this task was a Canon 60D on 50 frames per second.  In the AS filming task, I used my friends iPhone 6 rather than a professional camera. This year I had a better camera available, which allowed me to create a more professional looking production. This really honed my skills, as I had to manually focus the camera, and focus on the framing of the shots more. To create the slow motion effect, I had to put the camera into 50 frames per second. This allowed me to film in the exact same way but made the clips much more smooth when slowed d

Who did I interview?: In my audience feedback, I interviewed a few members of my target audience. Specifically, I interviewed teenagers aged 17/18 in a school setting. I feel my participants were representative of my target audience as I used varied genders. My target audience age is roughly this age bracket as well, so I feel that this was a representative sample of this age bracket. If I was to do this again, I would interview a larger sample size, with a further range of types of people. Specifically, I would stray from my target audience alone and would ask different ages of people. I would attempt to do this in the same way as my planning audience research and would go around town perhaps, asking strangers of their opinion as well.  This would make the results more generalizable to a wider audience in Media, rather than just my target audience. Analysis of the interview: What are your initial thoughts on the video? Overall, everyone thought the vid

This is the vlog I created to prove the synergy between my video and my Ancillary task.  Script: "To show how effective the combination of my media product and ancillary products are, I decided to do something slightly different. In order to do this, I created an interview between me and an audience member. In this, I showed the audience member my music video and watched them watch it and then showed them a pile of photos which I've printed off. These photos were inclusive of other peoples ancillary products and there was a pile of about ten different kinds of photos which showed different products, including mine. The idea was to see if the audience member could, straight after watching my video, notice which one was mine and pick out which one was mine without any context or any information. This audience member had never seen anything about my media product before. They'd been in an audience research video but nothing else and that was all. All they had to go on was

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media  products?  Music Video Conventions: There are many conventions of typical music videos. Here are a few examples that are commonly used: Commercial Exhibitionism: In this style, the artist will try and sell themselves, rather than the music. the main focus of the video is on the artist and is usually used to portray their unique lifestyle of success and fame. This is a common convention in pop music particularly. An example of this is 'I'm the one' by DJ Khaled and Justin Bieber:                          This is a clear example of Commercial Exhibitionism. Throughout the video, we are shown luxurious beaches, pools, and people. The video is based on DJ Khaled's extravagant lifestyle, and we understand the fame and fortune of the video. This idea of Commercial Exhibitionism is used in many pop videos to sell the artist. It is common for this to focus on a solo a
