Sunday 21st January Filming Review

Locations I visited:
  • River Tiffey- Wymondham
  • Field near River Tiffey- Wymondham
  • Abbey-Wymondham
  • Roads/Paths In Wymondham
  • My house

Shots I filmed:
Tiffey- Bridge shot.
           Shot across the river.
           Shots from behind the trees.
I was unable to film them in the water as it was -1 degrees.

Field- Picnic blanket shots with the panning up shot.
          Walking across the field shot.

Paths/roads- Lots of hand holding shots.
                     Across the road shots.
                     Lots of walking shots.

Abbey- Walking through the foggy graveyard.
            Bench shot.

Other- Lots of argument shots. I took these from a few different angles, and different ways               of arguing (shouting, being physical).
           Lots of general selfie shots.

Timings of the day:
10:00 am- Meet at Town Centre.
10:00-10:20 am- Walk to Abbey.
10:20-10:40 am- Shots at Abbey.
10:40-10:45 am- Walk to Tiffey.
10:45-11:20 am- Shots at Tiffey.
11:20-11:25 am- Walk to the field.
11:25-11:40 am- Shots at the field.
11:40-12:20 pm- Walk to my house (ten-minute snack break).
12:20-12:45 pm- Lunch break.
12:45- 2:30 pm- Some selfie shots and arguments.
Finish at 2:30

This was similar to my plan, but there were a few differences. First, it took us quicker to get to most places than I had planned, so the outdoor shots were filmed a lot quicker than I had planned. This was good as it earned us some extra time to get some snacks and lunch. We finished overall an hour later than I had planned, however. This was for many reasons but was mostly because we had stopped for a 25-minute lunch break and took a while to get back into it. Moreover, it took longer to film the argument shots, as it was quite difficult for my actresses to argue with each other with as much anger as I wanted. They are friends in real life, so it was hard for them to go all out and scream at each other.

Weather:
The weather of the day was perfect for a few hours, until around 1:00, when the heavens opened, and it started snowing and raining:
The weather didn't really interfere with a lot of the shots, but just made us hurry up a little, and walk a little quicker, to avoid the cold. The lighting for the day was actually perfect. The cold, foggy atmosphere created a very flattering, even lighting that allowed each shot to look flawless. This wasn't amazing, as I was planning to have the backstory to be bathed in summery light, but this flawless lighting will allow me to edit so it feels more summery.

It started snowing by the time we got home, but this didn't affect us as we did the final shots inside. When I walked everyone home, I tried to do a little filming in the snow, but it wasn't heavy enough, so it didn't really show up, so I might not use this footage.
