(Post 30)- Planning- Props

Props used in the Present:
In my coursework, props are the most important aspect of mise-en-scene. They are used to portray narrative and further the story.
However, overall, I am not including too many different props, and am only using one particularly important prop. Specifically, these are the photographs I am planning to use. In my coursework, I am planning to use photographs to show a window to the past. These will show how happy the couple was before they broke up. I am planning to edit over these so that they move in the final cut. This will be similar to the paintings in 'Harry Potter'.

To do this, I needed to buy a collection of green photographs, to act as a green screen so I can paste the film over the top in editing. So I decided to order 50 green photographs from a website called 'Snapfish', which offer photo printing and delivery on photographs of all sizes.
(I ordered some other photos at the same time, and used a discount code).
I decided to order the prints in the size 6x4", as this is the usual, most popular size for photographs, and I would like to show a sense of normality, even whilst they are moving.
To make this effective, I am going to have to plan exactly which photograph is being used at each time, and which clip is going to be played over the top. This will be told to my actress, so she will know how to react to each picture.
After a few days, they arrived and look like this:

<-- These are the green photographs I will use in my coursework. When edited, they will appear like ordinary photographs, except they will move.
I ordered 50, just in case, but I don't think I will actually use that many. My goal is to have enough shots to fill as many photographs as I can, but realistically I am aiming for around 20-30. To decide this, I will first need to film the sections of my work set in the past, and then decide how many shots I am going to use from that.

Props used in the Past:
Finally, that is my main use of prop, and aside from this, I am only going to use props in a naturalistic way. The phtotgraphs are the only props I am going to use in the present, and any other use of prop will be in the past.
An example of this is where the couple is baking. In this scene, they will be holding a bowl full of cake mix and baking cakes. The props for this scene includes- bowls, a wooden spoon and cake mix. There are other uses of props like this, but similar to this use, they are only using items readily available.
In this use, in particular, the only item I needed to buy was the cake mixture, which I bought from Morrisons. As one of my actors is vegan, I had to ensure I bought a vegan mixture and made it up with banana instead of eggs or milk. This use of prop is more to show the noramilty and happiness in the couples relationship- they are a perfectly comfortable couple who enjoy baking together.
